in slow motion, I run
[tagged]
Oh, a long while back in January I was tagged by mark. So, after a few too many weeks, I finally finish the list. It took me awhile, because I can't pick just one thing. I'm also a bit of a dilettante, an expert in nothing, but curious about many things. Unlike mark, who's quite talented. Check out his piece at eye weekly.
1. Name a book that you want to share so much that you keep giving away copies.
I don't often give the same book as gifts to different people. If it's good, I usually lend it. However, I did try to give "Beyond Bok Choy" but Indigo book store ran out of copies. I always recommend JD Salinger’s “Nine Stories” and Ian McEwan’s “The Comfort of Strangers”.
2. Name a piece of music that changed the way you listen to music.
Ayumi Hamasaki - "Whatever" (Ferry "System F" Corsten vocal extended mix)
New Order - "True Faith"
The Sisters of Mercy - "More" and "Temple of Love" (1983)
3. Name a film you can watch again and again without fatigue.
Blade Runner
Legally Blonde
Happy Together
4. Name a performer for whom you suspend all disbelief.
Keanu Reeves (because if I don't, I'd have to poke my eyes out)
Tony Leung
Maggie Cheung
Takeshi Kaneshiro (because he's cute!)
5. Name a work of art you'd like to live with.
classic to late Mark Rothko
Pierre-Auguste Renoir - Le déjeuner des canotiers
Alfred Sisley - one of the Neige à Louveciennes
Jean-Paul Riopelle abstracts
6. Name a work of fiction that has penetrated your real life.
W. Somerset Maugham - "Of Human Bondage"
7. Name a punch line that always makes you laugh.
"I believe in America. I believe it exists." - Stephen Colbert
Not exactly a punch line, but it makes me laugh and cry.
I'll tag Matty, Hot Lunch!, Clayboy and Joel. But you don't have to, if you don't want.
